Updating our cash flow spreadsheet on a daily basis (it can be done on the few days each week if somebody is working part-time);
Preparing monthly performance statistic sheets (details of time recorded, invoices rendered and cash recovered for each solicitor);
Dealing with monthly payroll;
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns;
Preparation of monthly management accounts;
Preparation of annual management accounts - and liaising with external accountants who prepare the tax accounts and tax returns.
