Electronics Design Engineer



Our client, established in 1973, is the UK’s leading independent designer and manufacturer of architectural and environmental lighting control systems. Our products are innovation led and are designed using progressive technology solutions.

They have a new opportunity for an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be reporting to the R&D Manager. 

We are seeking an experienced analogue electronics engineer to join our busy R&D Team. The role will involve close collaboration with our embedded software and mechanical design engineers to create the next generation of environmentally friendly lighting control products, LED drivers and multi-sensors.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and demonstrate skills/experience with switched mode power supplies, triac, IGBT and MOSFET control, design-for-manufacture/test, EMC testing, multi-layer PCB layout using Altium and custom inductor design.

Any RF experience with 2.4GHz (Zigbee, Bluetooth etc) and sub 1GHz radio systems would also be useful.

The main duties as Electronics Design Engineer are:

  • Design and develop electronic products, primarily for lighting control, with a specific emphasis on power and analogue electronics, but also including circuit design of mixed-signal microprocessor systems
  • Design of Switched Mode Power Supplies, LED drivers and dimming systems including semi-custom and custom wound components
  • Circuit research, circuit design, schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium
