Our clients, based in Hoddesdon, is a long established scientific instrument company manufacturing gas analysers for researchers in plant growth.

Products are designed and manufactured in the UK and are exported throughout the world. They have a new opportunity for a Design Engineer to join their expanding team. 

The right Design Engineer candidate will have:

  • A degree in Electronics or physics is desirable but not essential
  • A proven record in digital hardware and embedded software with 5+ years of experience
  • Understanding of DSP techniques
  • Good understanding of ADCs
  • Familiarity with serial interfaces such as I2C, SPI, USB, RS232

Although this position has an emphasis for digital hardware it is expected that the candidate should also have an understanding of analogue.

An understanding of low pressure gas circuits would be an advantage as the candidate will be expected to learn the infrared gas analysis side of development.

The embedded language of FORTH has been extensively used on our instruments to date so familiarity with this language would be an advantage. (Although it is not expected that this language will be used in the future).

The company is based in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. Employees work a 37hr week finishing early on Fridays. Staff benefits include 25 days paid holiday per year plus statutory and pension.
