Production Technician -

Working in the Production Department. The company designs, manufacture and supply technologically advanced, market-leading surveillance and security systems.

You will require previous experience with wiring and electrical components (e.g. power supplies, motors, electrical components, sensors etc.) You will need to be able to use a variety of tools and materials, including test lights, soldering tools such as irons, suckers, hotplates, and crimp tools, heat shrink and insulation tape.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am-5pm, Friday 8:00am-2:30pm.

Overall Job Purpose:

To work as a member of the production team focusing on making wiring harnesses on wiring looms, making cables, wiring of electrical equipment, and supporting fault diagnosis activities, of products assembled, tested and sold.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct assembly tasks as trained and instructed.
  • Work in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Follow H&S guidelines in the working environment.
  • Good housekeeping.
  • Inspection of components and parts prior to assembly.
  • Responsible for quality of their own work
  • Report issues to Production Engineering Manager and technical lead.
  • Completing inspection documents.
  • Updating work control system (Monday.com)
  • Support testing and inspecting wiring installations in Silent Sentinel’s product range to ensure functionality
  • Electrical fault diagnosis and repairing faults in wiring and electrical components
  • Responsible for wiring up in accordance with an electrical diagram or schematic.
  • Opportunity to learn wiring skills and progress to prototype wiring.
  • Use stock numbering system to obtain supplies from the main stores.
  • Recognise & obtain component value.
  • Hand solder, including choice & use of applicable solder & tip.
  • Operate hand crimp tools.
  • Comprehend Manufacturing drawings, wiring schedules, wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams, and sketches.
