Brazing & Production Operator - £12-£13ph

Job Summary

  • Set up and operate brazing equipment
  • Brazing, small metal (mainly copper and brass) assemblies and components (80% of work time) 
  • Working from technical drawings

·Production operations in assembly according to work instructions and technical documentation (20% of work time)

  • Work efficiently and adhere to quality objectives
  • Ensuring high quality of products
  • Adhering to H&S regulations


Knowledge, skills and abilities 

  • Ideal candidate will have 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position. 
  • Knowledge of quality standards.
  • Experience with Brazing small components and assemblies and associated tools and assembly equipment.
  • Experience within an SME business preferred.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work without supervision.
  • High levels of attention to detail.
  • Good computer skills.

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Complete work instructions for brazing requirements.
  • Pick parts, subassemblies, tool and materials then assemble.
  • Assemble devices by examining connections for correct fit.
  • Print labels with batch information and affix to products.
  • Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records.
  • Prepare packaging ready for despatch.
  • Monitor stock by completing counts as required.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the work area.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Be accustomed with and know how to use workshop tools.
  • Inform a supervisor immediately in the case of a recorded nonconformity of the technical requirements or an assumption of a real risk of production problems. 
  • Carry out work according to the quality policy of the company.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Other general production duties as required.
