Vivienne Debnam

Fore Street Employment Agency was founded in 1991 by partners Vivienne Debnam A.R.E.C
and Alice Howard M.R.E.C. It all started in the living room of Alice’s’ flat with two chairs, a telephone, vodka and tonic and a scotch and coke. In May of the same year the Agency was launched in two small offices situated on the corner of Fore Street and South Street in Hertford. By December 1994 the agency had expanded rapidly and moved to shop front premises at Ashbourne House, Fore Street. The partner’s work hands on along side their team of consultants. The advantage to everyone is a relationship built on personal knowledge and experience coupled with a genuine interest in both client and applicant.

Vivienne originally worked as a manager for a major national retailer, before joining a large London recruitment agency. Alice, combined with owning and running a restaurant/wine bar has successfully opened and managed various consultancies, including overseeing the company accounts, between them they have over thirty eight years experience in the industry.

Autumn 2000 saw the expansion of their permanents division, applicants and clients alike will find this a breath of fresh air with the utmost, honesty, confidentiality and the ability to listen. This compliments the ever-increasing temporary division, which now has up to 300 employees working per week.

As the years have passed by and new technology has set in, Fore street employment Agency have secured sole agency contracts with major plcs, small and medium size businesses throughout Hertfordshire. The Agency’s main aim is to work on a personal and professional basis matching the right applicant to the right position so that both company and individual are happy. It was some 17 years ago that Vivienne and Alice identified a gap in the market for temporary and permanent recruitment, despite starting in the depths of the economic recession their determination and hard work has been amply justified.
